How to Help
There are many ways you can help the children, youth and families we serve in our community, from donating, to assisting with fundraising to becoming a volunteer.
Donating
Your financial contribution will be an investment in the future of our community. You may make a donation to the overall work of Elgin Children’s Foundation, or you can select a specific program to support. You will receive a tax receipt for any contribution $20 or more. You can also make a meaningful difference by joining our Holiday Hope Campaign. You, or your business, can provide essential support through donations, gift card drives, or financial contributions. Every gift helps local caregivers bring joy and relief to their children during this festive, yet challenging, time.
Your generosity will immediately create access to education, employment, mental health supports and mentorship opportunities that kids in and from the child welfare system need and deserve.
Volunteer
Volunteering as a Board Member with the Elgin Children’s Foundation can be a deeply rewarding experience. As a Board member you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain valuable experience working on a Board of Directors
- Connect with your local community and engage in fundraising activities
- Support a cause you believe in
- Meet new people and develop professional contacts
- Make a difference in your community
If you are interested in joining our Foundation Board of Directors, we would like you to either work, volunteer or do business in Elgin County. We also mask that you are 18 years of age or older and supportive of the Vision, Mission and Values of the Foundation.

Fundraising
We are always looking for ways to promote the important work of the Foundation and to raise much-needed funds for the children, youth and families we serve.
You, or your workplace, team or company, can participate in our Annual LemonAID Day fundraiser, or you can run your own fundraiser with your friends, school or community for your birthday or special event (such as a wedding or bridal shower). You can also assist in fundraising for our summer Send a Kid to Camp program.
